New iPod Touch = Fun

I bought this scripture application for it, $14.99, and it comes with EVERYTHING! Every manual, every book, every resource, ensigns, hymns/sheet music, conference talks, EVERYTHING!!!! Pretty much if the church prints it, I have it on my iPod!

I also found the CTR spinner ring my really good friend/ex-gf gave me before I was's only big enough for my pinky finger but I still like it. It has CTR in 6 different languages, depending on where you spin it. It's pretty awesome!

School is finally out for winter break! My work schedule hasn't really picked up that much so I've been sitting around the apartment most of my time. I think tomorrow I'll clean my room, it's been long due. Then maybe Friday I'll clean Gilbert (my car), he's been pretty messy all quarter.

I can't wait until Christmas! I know Jesus wasn't really born on December 25th, but still, I enjoy spirit of the holiday and all the love in the air! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! I know it will be fun!

p.s. I can't believe 10 years ago people we're freaking about Y2K....those silly geese!

It's been awhile

wow so yeah I remembered today that I actually have one of these so I figured I'm give a quick update on my life.

Recently I have been diagnosed with Epilepsy, I know fun stuff. They found an arachnoid cyst on the left side of my brain, adjacent to my temporal lobe. It's benign though so don't worry, as long as I'm on Lamictal XR, I should be seizure free.

Hmm what else? Oh yes I have been called to be the VP of Activities for the Bellingham LDS Institute Council! It's my first stake calling so I'm pretty excited! Although working with WWU's AS department is stressful and difficult, working with everyone on the council and seeing what we can accomplish is so amazing and fun! I can really feel the blessings of leadership and all that they have taught me so far.

I'm still working at the theater, and there is some talk about promoting people to management positions and I must say, I'm picking up strong yet subtle vibes from my GM that I might be selected. YAY a whole 45 cent pay increase! (says Matt in a sarcastic tone)

Graphic Design is going smoothly, although being at a liberal college, the Art History department can be a little obscene on their subject matter. I just have to hold strong 'till spring then I get that piece of paper that will make people want to hire me....YAY!

I still plan on doing that whole mission thingy-mer-bobber-schpeal. I figure after I graduate, I'll work for about 5 or 6 months and save money for when I return, you know, to live off of while I regather my portfolio, catch up on the industry, and get a job or internship. I don't know where life will take me so I'm just going to have to roll with the punches and pray. If I'm told mission that's what it'll be. If I'm told to stay and fulfill something else for Heavenly Father then that's what I'll do.

I really hope to hear from all 3 of you who read my blog, haha, I know you haven't seen or heard much from me lately and It would be cool to get caught up :)

Until next time,

It wasn't that hot until....

....I had make my way outside and paint....The yellow paint on the curbs at my job were fading so they decided to have my venture outside and decorate them with the THICK white primer that dries in like 2.76354 seconds....yeah I know not the most desired RANDOM task to have while working at a movie theater....lets just say I was sweating more rampantly than a portly chap running a 5K race for cancer while eating this case I was running from bees trying to terminate me randomly....and it was like A MILLION degrees outside for that hour or so of time....I'm not complaining or anything....I'm just whining

I love the fact I get free movies! It's pretty gnarly!

I've also decided to stop eating out for awhile....see how much I can save up....not including dates....when school was in I had only about 2 or 3 hundred saved up now it's about 7 or 8 so that's a step in progress....the mission wont pay for itself

I was asked today what I wasn't "allowed to do" in the LDS church....HAHA....I explained the Idea of Free Agency, the Words of Wisdom, and The Concept of Marriage....People think it's strange how I can abstain myself from all the "Joys" of the Earth (I much wrong with that statement)

This movie looks stupid....not gonna basically is about how corrupt and dirty man kind has gotten so God being "mad at his children" has decided to "change" and "Exterminate" us to hell by sending Angels down to kill and "Burn" everyone....Wow....just....Wow....Where's the love gone people?

watching ghostbusters

the 80's were so cheesy....I LOVE IT!

....I'm not sure how that title will relate to this post, I just felt like being random I guess.

So I had an eventful time in Utah last week! It started with the drive down....16 HOURS in the car with the same people that, after time passed, we're a bit cranky....but I guess that happens. We started by staying at my grandma's house in Springville, which is a super nice area, let me tell you. Then we visited Provo, BYU, the MTC, and the Temple....BUUUTTTT....Provo is kind of boring, The campus had classes and only an art museum (which had some good religous paintings....but mostly boring student stuff), the MTC wouldn't even let us into the parking lot, and the Temple was closed for that didn't work out. We then later went to Lagoon, FUN TIMES! The trip then moved to Midvale to stay at Peter's family's house. We visited SLC where we saw Temple Square. The Organist for the Tabernacle is UH-MAZING! The Conference Center, SOOO BIG! I didn't see any General Authorities though :( Later on in that week Aaron wrecked his car with us in it, so I'm not supposed to talk about that. I pretty much just bought a plane ticket home so I could be at work on time, which was pointless because they got home pretty much when I needed to be at I guess things happen. But before I left I had the opportunity to go to an open house at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple....probably one of the most AWESOME times of the trip, if not my life....soo cool!

Besides that I've been at home working lately! I've been hanging out with the Birch Bay group a lot in the past few days. A couple nights ago they told me Sarah Reid had creepy people living in her neighborhood, so, we decided to prank text her from my phone because she didn't know my number, that was fun.

The 4th was fun! We watched fireworks off of the Nimbus, aka the tallest building in Bellingham. Some of the explosions were so great that the windows hook and car alarms went off :)

BUT....Last night was pretty out there on the scale of scary. We all planned to have a little bonfire/fireworks party of our own on the water of Birch Bay shoreline, but the park rangers told us we had to leave which was lame I guess. It was then we went to the girl's house to hang out until we all could find something to do. As we were leaving their house Sarah fell off Cameron's back and hit her head really hard. We took her to her parent, who took her to the E.R. where we all met and waited for support. She ended up getting staples in her head and didn't have a concussion, which is good I guess!

After all the ruckus we all went to Denny's and had breakfast/break my 25.5 hour fast! One word of advice, don't eat the pancake puppies, grose :-/ It was there where we all told some of our most embarrassing stories to each other....I think mine came in second, if not first. Would you like to hear them?....of course you do!

In the 5th grade I really had to use the restroom during a test. I ask my teacher, Ms. Maulding, if I could use the lavatory. She told me I must wait until the end of the test. I tried to hold it in SOO long before the leg shaking just didn't hold it in any longer. Before I knew it my shorts felt a little warm, my bladder slowly felt a little more relieved each second, before I knew it I was sitting in a puddle and I stood up, ran out to the office to get a change of clothing....I think people knew what was up when I came back in the school's loaner sweat pants.... :(

In the sixth grade I had a delicious lunch right before second recess....if you don't know yet I am lactose intolerant, they had some sort of milkshake thing if I remember right and it didn't feel well. So during recess we all started playing football. Shortly after starting the game I was tackled by my friend when I let out a little "gas"....HAHA or so I thought....before I knew it, my pants were sticky, wet, and smelly....that's my pants baby....I ran to the office and got some loaner pants....I think everyone knew what was up when I came back in sweat pants....sad sad day :(

But yes, back to modern times. If you would like to han out you should call or text me....I work a lot lately but I always can make time for friends :)

Haha, for those of you who are probably worrying....

....I have not died, I am not inactive, and I am not a hermit. In fact I have been up to a lot....look!

I know I haven't been seen much on Sunday's at church due to my new job, however, I DON'T HAVE TO WORK ON SUNDAYS ANYMORE! I talked to my boss and they're over. BUT, I still won't be at church this Sunday and next Sunday....One will be Father's Day and the other will be when I'm in Utah on vacation (technically I'll go to church while I'm there, so I'll still be "at" church)

So much has happened recently, but I don't feel like posting it on here, and I also have forgotten a large sum of I guess these things happen. Oh and if you were wondering, that is my outfit for the 80's dance....I'm pretty Radical I guess (:-D)---|----<>

Sunday, May 31, 2009

I've got to go to work in a few minutes but I thought I'd say....

So I got my new calling today....I can finally talk about it! I'm the new Vice President of the Institute Council! I must say I am pretty excited about it. I'm not sure what my job entails but I'll be finding out soon :-)

We were given our missionary response kits today in our combined session. ALL OF OUR HARD WORK IS FINALLY DONE....lets see if they work! Haha speaking of combined session, we were supposed to meet in this small classroom barely enough room for everyone to stand in....we eventually moved to the gym THANKS TO ME! I think my whining and complaining to the EQP the RSP and the Bishopric paid off and they finally caved in....BWAHAHAHAHA

Anyways I'm watching The Goblet of Fire as I type this and get ready for work....I miss the old Dumbledore....Peter showed me this picture awhile back and it made me laugh, you might have to click on it to see the whole thing

Anyways I must be off now, feel free to stop by and say hi, Sehome Cinemas 3

Friday, May 29, 2009

Only like 3.25 more assignments left....

....something like a few website corrections, one more book to assemble, 50 page copies to make, and a magazine layout to refine....It feels AWESOME to FINALLY be able to relax....although I probably shouldn't speak so I'll be fine

And I'm getting a new Stake Calling on Sunday....that should be fun....wish me luck ;-{D

P.S. I've noticed that no one really reads this anymore....hmm....thats cool I guess

....I FINALLY turn in that wretched thing I call a portfolio! I'll be finding out by Monday or Tuesday what discipline I'll be going into....I don't know how they're going to review OVER 60 portfolios on Friday alone....but that's what they told me they plan to do this time....INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE!

I watched the movie Taken last night....AWESOME MOVIE! Just ask Jason, Jake, Marshall, and or Senica....they were all there, and they agree.

Ok well I should be getting back to HMWK....see you later :-{D

Monday, May 25, 2009

A little over 2 days....

....then I can turn this wretched thing in and work on a normal paced schedule like a NORMAL human being.

So yes for those of you who actually read this (aka Maren):

I love my job....I don't know how many times I reiterate that. In fact on Friday I can finally take advantage of going and seeing free movies because I'll have a pay stub! It will be great cause I'll be that cool guy with the "hook-ups".

Thanks again for inviting and hanging out again with me, I know it's been awhile since I've seen you guys and I apoligize....and I do promise to not tickle you again. Tease you and poke fun in my various ways yes, but tickling, tackling, biting, squeezing, poking, and everything related no.

I'm glad you like your job, it sounds like something I could get into....we should exchange schedules so I can start coming over again and hanging out again with you and the fam because I KNOW you guys miss me :-{D

Well I should be getting ready for bed. I'll make sure update this more often now that the seas are parted and I wont be a slave to the Pharaoh I call the Art Department!

Yours Truly
~Matty Cakes

Oh and P.S.
Once I'm done with all of them, I'll bring the books over and we can choose one for your broth from the same motha as a mission journal :-{D

Oh and look what I made! It's what I camped out in the school for....
It's nothing special I guess....the text didn't even have to be legit, but it is for a fake company....not all the links, programing or parts had to work, it was just about the design and organization of the site.

Friday, May 22, 2009

6 days....

....I can see the light at the end....I feel good....great! Because in about 2 1/2 weeks I'll be FREEEEEEEEE!

If you can't tell....I'm pretty excited!

Matty ;-D

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

In 9 days.... portfolio for the Design Junior Sequence is due, but I haven't started to compile things for it. I have all but one of the required pieces for it complete and ready, but I just need to piece it all together....sounds easy enough right....WRONG....I still have so much stuff I've been working on lately, both in and out of school, but I'll catch up, just wait, you'll see! ;-D

So yeah my job is probably one of the easiest customer service based jobs out there....I 4 main duties, Ushering, Concessions, Box Office, and Stocking/Cleaning....all of those are done in between movie times, but, once those movies start (all are 15 to 20 minutes apart) there is a few hours of just sitting around, reading, talking, doing homework, eating free stuff, debating cage matches between celebrities and movie characters, talking about zombies, and much much more....and it's not just the little guys....THE MANAGERS TOO!....everyone there is cool and nice in their own way....I LOVE IT!....I just can't wait until I don't have to work on Sunday's anymore....The only thing I don't like is how my probation periods landed on weekends....atleast it's not on or during school/institute things

Well I'm off now....I should probably be a little more productive since I complain about lack of time so much :-)

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Hey look what I made for my class....
(not all the links actually go anywhere....but they will)

I'm so glad I don't slack off on my work, I think that trait will pay off in my future :-)

Saturday, May 9, 2009

I had so much sleep yesterday....

....yet only like 4 or 5 hours of it last it's cool I guess, I'm not tired. I guess I'm just typing this in my break time. i don't have that much homework this weekend, I think the A.D. finally realized with all the work they've been giving us, how can we get our Portfolios done?

So a few big things have happened to me lately:

One, we thought my mom might have had breast cancer. That ended up just being a calcium build up. We seriously prayed so much for that, I'm just really grateful!

And Two, I got a job at Seahome Cinemas! I'm not sure when I start but I know for sure I'll be working Thursday night for the midnight showing of "Angels and Demons". I know I'll work before then because they want to train me and not just throw me in on a BUSY night. But yes I'll have more money! What's also cool is that they said they'd go easy on my schedule while I'm in school, which most places aren't willing to do. I'm pretty excited, I'm not gonna lie.

Besides that it's the same ol' same ol' boringness I call my current :-/

Well have fun, I'll talk to you all later
-Matty :-)

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

So for the past few days I've been completely isolated....

....aside from going to class and doing the groceries, I've been locked in my room working on projects so I wont fall behind....the art department is insane I swear.

For a 5 credit course at WWU you're supposed to have 5 hours of class each week and roughly 5 hours of homework each week. For 3 classes that comes to about 30 hours of total time spent toward school per week, give or take a few, basically a full time job. INSTEAD they have us going to class for 6 hours a week and have for each class, roughly, 10 to 15 hours of homework per class each week. THAT'S ROUGHLY 48-63 HOURS A WEEK OF TIME TOWARDS SCHOOL EACH WEEK....INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE! So I apologize to anyone who may think I've abandoned them....Western has me in their fist and they're squeezing....hard!

Pero si....all my hard work Monday and yesterday (I worked about 16 hours each) about gave me room to go to movie night at Jen Andrade's....although I should be going home, doing my chores, reading my scriptures and SLEEPING, I'm going to be social for once :-)

Besides that, on Saturday I bought a really nice dress shirt and a "Trump Tie" for like 65% off at Macy's....funny story....I was only supposed to get 40% off with the sale going on, but the guy ringing me up gave me his discount because he thought I was cute....and after he rung me out he even had the guts to ask me out on a was a bit awkward....of course I said no....I felt bad though, it's hard enough asking a girl out, imagine asking a guy....and he gave me his discount which I'm sure is a no no at Macy's....but yes....knowing that members of both sex think you're attractive just boosts your esteem ; I make that shirt and tie look good!

Saturday, May 2, 2009

I almost missed.... assignment to clean the church building this morning, but HA I didn't! I almost slept in from my late night/hectic day yesterday. But I'd personally like to thank Aaron Perrell(Roommate) for waking me up this morning.

Yesterday I spent my day off working at Western on a BIG project for my book arts class....I was there for almost 8 hours! I got it done which is a HUGE sigh of relief!

So afterwards I had time to stop by Aaron's show. He plays drums for this lounge/folk band named Pan Pan, they're really good, I recommend everyone check them out sometime! ANYWAYS, it was at this art showroom in downtown Bellingham, the Jynks. IT WAS PROBABLY THE MOST STRANGEST PLACE I HAVE EVERY BEEN TO! Now I've seen artsy, I'm a Fine Arts Major, but this place was both really cool, and REALLY WEIRD! I get there and walk into a room full of drunk people eating fried chicken....hmm....I then make my way down to the basement where I heard music where I see tons of paintings and other works of modern art which were both really cool and really over priced. I look to my left and what do I see? A screen with a pink and purple backdrop, various children being projected on it, war footage, innocence, violence, and a belly dancer dancing to techno music right in front of was weird, you have no idea.

I text Aaron to ask where he's at and he soon finds me. We walk around and look at paintings, sculptures, and other works when we look back and see another belly dancer, a black gentleman dancing the same music but adding robot moves.... it cracked us up a bit.

Later on Senica and Sam showed up and the 4 of us saw this HILARIOUS hippie guy wearing a purple and pink skirt, smelling absolutely revolting, long dreds (beard included), no shirt but a hemp vest, and a probable made my night other than Pan Pan. Sara(the piano/trumpet/flugelhorn/accordion) cracks me up.

Anyways the nights festivities finally ended around 1:30 or 2ish in the morning with Aaron and I in our apartment playing guitar and hanging was a great end to a stressful week.

Anyways I must be off, homework and erronds.... :-/
I will talk to you all later
-Matty :-)

p.s. Maren, there is a picture of you from WCC, autographed, and put on a wall at the James St. Building....I found it randomly posted while cleaning

Probably the most epic tale in history

This just brings a tear to my eye, *sniffle sniffle*, a movie like this comes only once in a lifetime!

Sock Hop

So the sock hop was a pretty fun event the other night. I had the opportunity to hang out with a lot of friends I haven't seen much of this quarter, and some I see all the time. I was DJ most of the night, which consisted of me mingling and not paying attention to much of the music at all....but shh....I really feel like it went off with a hit! Here are just some of pictures I'm in! Some of them might be too big and my page cuts them off, but click on them to see the whole image.

Marley and me....

....was actually a good movie! Holy guacamole! Seeing people cry at movie night is a first, let me tell you! I really enjoyed how it hit real life issues and how it wasn't cheesy. Definitely beats "Where the Red Fern Grows", at least this one has entertainment rather than JUST sadness.

Besides that, I made another book today, a black and royal purple wrap involved a lot of sewing but it was worth it. Book arts is actually a super fun class, time consuming, but fun! I also love the fact I am really good in my new media class. Not braging or anything, but really, I finished a week and a half ahead of schedule, and when I had bugs in my animation sequences that would take a normal student in that class a few days to fix, it took me 20 minutes! I guess I am just that AWESOME!

I have also been nice and polite all week ;-D I'll admit I whined at first but I am getting good at this "Keeping my mouth closed" thing.

I also am applying at the Sehome Cinemas....I have friends who work there and say that it's quite easy to manage school and work at that place. And the pay isn't that bad for a part time college job and....FREE MOVIES!

Pero Si I must get back to my guests, I'll talk to you later

Sunshiny Day!!!!

This morning I woke up at 8 o'clock and decided to go on this Uh-Mazing morning catch was all up hill....I lost track of how long I went before I turned around, but it was intense.

After that I showered and ate a magnificent breakfast while reading some 2nd Nephi! Then I went to class where I, of course, finished early, not bragging or anything, but I was motivated to leave!

One thing....NO ONE IS FREE TO HANG OUT....except Peter Duggar, so you should help us figure out what to do!

ok I'm done....SUNSHINE!
-Matty :-D

Yesterday was funnnnnnnnnnn....

....not only did I finish my homework earlier than expected....but did you see the weather!? I felt inspired to buy some new jogging shorts, you know since my other ones were a bit too big (like 10 inches in the waist too big).

At FHE we ended up playing Ultimate Frisbee outside at Western. No surprise I was one of the last picks :-( And no one, not once, ever passed me the frisbee....not to mention I kept having to "remind" my teammates that I was on their team, cause "apparently" they kept forgetting >:-S It's ok though, I still had fun! I just wish I knew a way to rid mosquitoes without having to spray on nasty stuff.

After everyone was done, the Selander sisters took me back to their house. There we played some geetar and ate some quesadillas. Their dad is actually super funny, we all came to the consensus that he is a goober, not in a mean way, he was the one who originally titled himself that. After hanging out for a bit, Skye and I went on a gelato run in Fairhaven on the way to drop me off at my house.

After hanging out with a bunch of friends yesterday I came to the conclusion that I need to keep finishing my homework ahead of schedule so I can continue to hang out with them!

Monday, April 20, 2009

I'm being blinded by the sunrise right about now....'s like 6:58 am right about now and I should be leaving for class anytime soon.

Today should be easy, just turning in projects for new media and book arts. I hope that's it, I really don't want to sit through lectures.

I have to choose whether to make PB&J, PB&Nutella, or a turkey sandwich for lunch....hmm maybe I could experiment. Maybe tuna with apples and PB, or tuna with nutella, or maybe tuna and turkey....I think I might go crazy....SEE WHAT MY LIFE HAS COME TO NOW THAT I HAVE TO BE POLITE! IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN 24 HOURS AND I'M ALREADY GOING LOOPY OVER SANDWICHES!

ok PB&Nutella

you see, I'll be fine....maybe a little off my rocker, but fine :-D

So funny story....I went crazy deciding what sandwich to make and turns out we had no bread....AHH....I just bought some apple, cucumber, and avocado sushi....YUM!

Sunday, April 19, 2009

So I'm currently attempting the act of kindness....

....for a whole week (until next Sunday at 6:10 pm) because I seem to have gotten to the point where I'm known for my rude and snarky behavior. Don't get me wrong, that is how I flirt, joke, and just plain am toward a lot of people, but most people haven't gotten to see me kind and generous side. I really am super nice, honest! So this challenge should be easy for me, just watch!

-Matty :-D

Saturday, April 18, 2009

So game night at the church building wasn't thaat fun....

....but I did win two free moovie tickets! and I did bang up my knee REALLY bad :-(

And afterwards I had the great opportunity to hang with the Jones girls, Megan, Brooke, Natalie, and Carly....and we pretty much just pranked the Gardiner's house....but shhhh....they don't know it was us yet....we put powdered mashed potatoes on their walkway, and we saran wrapped Austin's car with whole dill was fun!

We made a pact that we wouldn't rat each other out by putting our hands in a circle and singing "U-G-L-Y, You aint got no alibi" and spitting on the ground....We plan on continuing this next week so watch out....bwahahahahahahahah

-a few hours later-

So Antonio and Megan C. just called us (Aaron and I) and said that they were out of gas and stranded, so we went to help. It was funny cause Aaron always takes a bunch of sleeping pills before he goes to bed. So we're driving down Bill McDonald and I have a 21 year old man screaming out the window at people to cross the street and saying that this one certain cop was "hot faced"....I think sleeping pills may work a little differently with Aaron that everyone else. THEN once we pick Megan up to get gas, we drive to the station and she has no phone or money, so we go back to her car, grab some money, and go back to shell. She buys a gas can but still doesn't have enough for money, so we, again, go back to her car for some money. Once we get there she grabs her money and we fill up the little gas can! It was just really fun to see an embarrassed Megan and a Stoned Aaron :-)

Although uneventful.... was an okay kind of day! Sunny weather, lots of but mildly easy homework, and interesting things.

So I'm walking to the LDS Institute from the Art Department at Western and I pass this guy holding a sign saying "Caution B.S. Ahead". I asked him what he meant. He just pointed at these protesters about 10 feet from him holding signs saying....and I quote...."Environmentalism = Genocide", and signs with "Go Green" crossed out in a red circle. The protesters behind the gentleman handed me a pamphlet and told me that environmentalism is wrong and I should check out their website. I was very confused....HOW COULD YOU BE AGAINST BEING ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?....I asked why it was wrong and they told me....That producing ethanol for energy reduces our dependency for foreign oil, therefore making less jobs for foreign people, and therefore killing them off. And that recycling is taking away MANY jobs from HARD WORKING AMERICANS (exact tone). And that mostly all economists are savages....I didn't know how to react to these statements, so I did what any smart person would do, I looked them right in the face and threw their pamphlet in the recycle bin.

Now I'm sitting here working on animation storyboards for my New Media class while Peter Duggar is playing video games in my living room. LONG, LENGTHY, yet easy work. I can't complain.

But yeah I should get back to my homework, sorry if it seems like I ignore people lately, I really don't mean's just I'm busy....busy busy busy....with school or my church callings....people like Peter have learned to come and socialize with me while I work at my apartment....hopefully things will let up soon in the Design Department, but I don't see that happening anytime soon :-( [that would be a sad face....I's rare I type one!]

So yeah....byes

Ich hatte fröhlichen Ostern!

So today I woke up at around 8:30, showered, ironed my clothing, made breakfast, ate breakfast, and went to church. The talks were all GREAT! Every class was amazing, and I guess we accomplished a lot in activities committee.

I was so happy with how today went! Everything in church was about the atonement, and I rather enjoyed every minute of it. I have to admit, during Jake's talk I was a wee bit teary eyed at certain moments. I really am extremely grateful for what the savior has done for me. I can't even fathom how much pain and anguish he must have gone through just for my sins alone, not to mention the rest of the world's....I know this church is true and I know that my savior died for my sins, and I know that because I have felt his love each time I pray, each time I read his gospel, each time I sing his praises, and each time I'm around those who love me and those who know of his love as well.

After church today I called pretty much a whole bunch family and friends that I haven't talked to in ages, that took a few hours. I'm so grateful that I have so many family members who care about me and want the best of everything for me. They laid the foundation for me that made me the person I am today. Although I was a pretty douchey and crappy teenager, their love and example shaped me into my current state, and they can see the me beyond my past.

Then, later, Aaron and I busted out our special machine for grilling hot dogs called, and I'm not joking, "The Hot Diggidy Dogger". Our house smelled like burnt rubber and mustard for like an hour afterwards. Then a few hours later I munched on some carrots and watched "BEAR ATTACKS"!

Then mini Selander and friend and those Booth kids came over, along with Aaron, and we watched "The Ultimate Gift". Maren reiterated countless times how the lawyer had long fingers and pointed out everyone's physical traits while Austin ruined every dramatic and emotional scene. Don't get me wrong I love those kids, but every once in awhile I wish they had a mute button! Not to worry, I won, don't worry, that person knows what I am referring to. Although there was a few close encounters where I almost lost (the chin and the knee)....I have a feeling I may have won the battle, but the war is long from over. Oh oh and they brought over this REALLY good strawberry shortcake, SO DELICIOUS, I swear I will never grow tired of that family or their cooking, not one bit!

I love life right now. Yes I'm engulfed in school and projects, but the little time I get to spend with people (mostly Aaron these days) really helps me appreciate them and what they do for me :-) If you're one of these people, and you know if you are, then just know that I'd be nothing without you, or at least a little less the person I am now. Thank you :-D

ok I'm done meow

(that's for you Austin)

Today has flown by soo fast....

....Friday forum was pretty Grand I must say. Potato soup, bread sticks, and this Uh-Mazing dessert! The speaker was actually a video of a talk at BYU from this economist from D.C. who was able to connect charity with success....probably one of the best talks EVER....and the strangest part was that he wasn't even LDS....I'll have to ask Bro. Nel. for the video link so I can post it on here.

After that Aaron and I went grocery shopping....first Costco then Cost-cutter....I totally bought some of these dried apricots....SOO DELICIOUS!!!!

And now I just finished up working on some Design HMWK....I'm slowly learning to work fast and how to get by with tweaking things instead of beating myself until I'm stressed.... :-D

But yeah last night in Missionary Prep. at the institute we started learning a lot about what goes on in the mission field and certain questions that could be raised....and I liked B.K. Packer's response to drinking cola....He said something along the lines of: Yes it's true, the Word of Wisdom doesn't say we can't drink cola. It doesn't say anything about cyanide either, and do you drink that?....I LOVE THIS CHURCH!!!!

Alright, well I'm through boring you all with my pointless stories....I should go and find something to do.

~Matty :-D

P.S. Today has been short but fun....I have been so :-D lately!!!!

The scary thing is that someone had to teach him these at one point

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

So yesterday, after class let out, I made a "spur of the moment" descision....I went and bought some shorts, since all my old pairs are WAYY TOO BIG NOW! So if you see me today, you just might see me sporting those new bad boys!

I have so much homework this week, so if I don't get around to seeing any of you don't feel bad, things should clear up a wee bit by the weekend. Plus, this quarter, I don't have classes on Fridays! This doesn't mean I won't work on projects at all on Fridays, it just means MORE FREE TIME!

So yesterday I was indirectly confronted about my faith, and I've come to realize that it only strengthens my testimony hearing some of things that people say to "de-convert us". I'm not going to repeat some of the things said, haha, but I can definitely say that it will make you 90% of what they claim we believe in is ABSOLUTELY false, and the other 10% is misunderstood, interpreted wrong, or taken out of context.

Day 1 of Conference

Two sessions down, 3 to go....for the priesthood at least....I think thus far my favorite talk today was by Quentin L. Cook. I can't wait until I can view these again online so that I can send my mom a link of his talk. She, still, believes that we, the LDS church, preach that only people of the LDS faith can reach heaven, and everyone else will burn eternally in hell....For those of you who read this and aren't LDS, let me clear something up for you, WE DON'T PREACH THESE THINGS AT ALL....I've always liked how this church is so kind and accepting of other faiths and never damns others for anything, who are we to judge....yes bishops and other church authorities may use disciplinary action in certain situations for people who have made and broken an oath or covenant, but we learn that we are never to judge or force others to be like us, it's called "agency"....WE ARE NOT HEAVENLY FATHER....but we can aspire to be like him

ok well I gotsta go get ready for the priesthood session :-)

stay fun!
Matty ;-D

This is an ad for a children's computer desk....HAHA....OOPS

This one is just disturbing

Obviously someone did at one point....

Scary if misinterpreted....

This is sad

How does this even work?

Wow....I couldn't tell....

tisk tisk

Some people are just....nevermind

Another one that's scary if misinterpreted....

I'm glad I'm LDS

I'm confused!

Lazy? or Misunderstood?

again....LDS = :-)

I don't understand either.

Again....Someone at one point had to of done this....

Enough Make-up?

Actually I think this is awesome!

I guess some places have a different definition of a morning meal.

Protect and Serve!

He has a point....

Hypocracy Kills!

I guess "Pee" mean's something else to them.

The LDS church wouldn't make this mistake!

It's a man's sport.

I'm not sure what's going on here either....

It's true....

Do you expect them to be able to answer?

You need it....

I'm confused!

Well that's all I'm gonna post for now....I might post more another time
